Some perspiration: Loyola Chicago, Murray State

Q1: 1-2 | Q2: 3-2 | Q3: 4-0 | Q4: 7-0

Loyola Chicago had been playing with fire for a few games before it eventually got burned in a 10-point home loss to Missouri State. They also dropped a road game to Drake a few games later. Even with those defeats, though, the Ramblers are in decent shape to reach the NCAA Tournament as an at-large team.

They hold an excellent 16-4 overall record that includes a neutral-site win over San Francisco. Two of their losses are to teams poised to land top-four seeds, so those are not killers. Loyola Chicago ranks well in quality metrics, which is a very good thing because they cannot afford too many more losses.

While they are in good shape now, they only have one Q1 win, and there are not many high-quality opportunities in the Missouri Valley. The Ramblers have a margin for error right now, but one that will shrink quicker than those in high-major conferences. They are currently on our No. 10 seed line.
