Southern Illinois coach Bryan Mullins will receive an automatic one-year extension to his five-year contract with the university if the current Athletic Director Jerry Kill leaves Southern Illinois before March 31, 2024, when the contract term ends.

Courtesy car

Mullins will receive a courtesy car as part of his contract. If Southern Illinois doesn’t have a courtesy car currently available, the university may instead provide a vehicle allowance of a minimum of $500 per month.

Attendance-based incentives

Mullins will receive a bonus of $15,000 if Southern Illinois averages more than 6,000 fans per home game for a season. If Southern Illinois sells out a home game, Mullins will receive a $5,000 bonus.


Unity with athletic director

One clause in Mullins’ contract states that “major public announcements,” which would include the suspension of a player or schedule modifications, must be discussed by Mullins and his athletic director before the announcement is made public.

The Other Top 25: Louisiana Tech and Murray State enter in first summer update--Mid-Major Madness
Missouri State also moves up a bit after landing grad transfer Anthony Masinton-Bonner form Colorado State. Remember, the Bears also brought in Lamont West from West Virginia. They could be the early favorites in the Valley for 2019-20.

The next update will likely come once NBA Draft entries are set, though maybe even sooner if the transfer market stays wild. Here’s where we stand now.

Another Antetokounmpo emerges in high school hoops--24/7 Sports
A 2020 recruit, college programs has started to reach out to Antetokounmpo. He said he holds a scholarship offer from Bradley.

“It’s going pretty good,” he said. “I’m just trying to get better every day and not focus too much on it.”

To go with the offer from Bradley, Antetokounmpo said he’s talked to Maryland and Georgetown.
