What a week it’s been for Boise State.Women’s Basketball Visits Eastern Illinois Tuesday--bradleybraves.com
First, the Broncos demolished Loyola Chicago in the Mountain West/Missouri Valley Challenge. The Ramblers were off to a great start and were a trendy pick to contend in the Valley, yet they were never competitive against Boise. Justinian Jessup went 6-7 from three and the Broncos won 87-53.

Every week, I ask two questions in our weekend preview that I hope are answered with Saturday and Sunday’s games. Here they are for this week.
...
Daum or Johnson?
The answer always has been and always will be both, but on Saturday, Alize Johnson won the battle decisively. His 20 points and 14 boards led the Bears to a 20-point win on the road, as Missouri State has now won five in a row after a rough start to the season. Mike Daum struggled on Saturday, scoring only seven points on 3-14 shooting.

That leaves eight teams with perfect marks that we’re looking forward to seeing tested a bit more. Here’s a quick look at each of their early-season resumes and the first game that might offer a better measuring stick:MVC Men's Basketball Notes (D4)--The Missouri Valley

Valparaiso (8–0)
Best wins: vs. Utah State, vs. UNC-Wilmington (in Georgia)
Next test: at Purdue, Thursday
The Crusaders feel like an odd inclusion here. They’re not trying to fool anybody by munching on cupcakes; they’re a good team taking care of business in a fine mid-major non-conference schedule. But among their top Missouri Valley competition, Northern Iowa (vs. UNLV and SMU) and Missouri State (at Western Kentucky and South Dakota State) have already claimed some noteworthy early-season pelts. This week’s trip to Purdue and next week’s to Northwestern will give Valpo a chance to one-up them.
