What's Up In The Missouri Valley 1/17/2022

1/17/2022 MATCHUP NEWS AND NOTES--Staring At The Floorboards

ELSEWHERE

  1. We don’t know who’s available for Drake, with both Hemphill and DeVries potentially out, and that’s huge against SIU, whose strength lies at the 3/4 with Coupet and Domask. Generally speaking, it’s a tough matchup for the Salukis, who are structured to run you off the 3 (fairly useless against Drake) but don’t have much by way of rim protection. Definite lineup check involved here.

25. Loyola Chicago Ramblers (13-2)

Highest vote: No. 21 | Lowest vote: Unranked

Loyola Chicago has not had an easy go of things recently. The Ramblers needed three combined overtimes to beat Bradley and Valparaiso at home, plus narrowly squeaked out a road victory over Indiana State. Missouri Valley play has not been smooth sailing for head coach Drew Valentine’s team, yet they find themselves 4-0. Is this an Icarus situation, or just a tough stretch of games?
