Colorado State, Loyola Chicago lead the top 10 mid-major teams in the country: Hoop Thoughts--The Athletic

2. Loyola Chicago (9-2). The Ramblers’ competitive losses to Michigan State and Auburn at the Battle 4 Atlantis look even more impressive now than they did then, given the way those two teams are playing. Drew Valentine may be the youngest coach in Division I, but he has a grizzled, veteran squad that has now won 28 of its last 32 games, with three of those losses coming against power conference teams. Loyola ranks fifth in the country in 3-point percentage (41.8) and 329th in tempo. The Ramblers have an intriguing road game at Davidson coming up on Dec. 22. Then they dive into their last go-round in the Missouri Valley Conference before joining the Atlantic 10 next season.
