Missouri State – The Bears beat Western Kentucky in Bowling Green, but have also dropped three games (one each: home, neutral, away) to teams in Group 3. Not ideal. Also, Missouri State lacks the NC SOS numbers (No. 188 at time of post). Outlook: The Valley isn’t deep, so the Bears need to win the title going away and pile up wins.
Loyola-Chicago – The Ramblers have that win at Florida, but the rest of their resume presents problems. Beyond the losses to Milwaukee and Indiana State, there’s an ugly NC SOS number around 300. Outlook: Long-shot. Would need to dominate the Missouri Valley and lose only to say, Missouri State, in the final.
