Williams is fulfilling his great potential and the Purple Aces are the only MVC team averaging 80 points per game. The 6’9 sophomore averaged 29 points per game last week and is averaging 16.7 through UE’s first ten games. Williams has recorded three double-doubles and has reached the 20-point plateau five times including the last three.
He is both the ‘Player of the Week’ and the ‘Newcomer of the Week’. It is his third ‘Newcomer’ award. His shooting percentage was an amazing 88.5 % while making 23 of 26 shots. He shot .944 field goal percentage against Miami (Ohio) which was the best Division 1 player performance this decade.

13 | Northern Iowa | 8-1 | 1 | The Panthers gain a spot after a week that saw them throttle Division III Luther. Freshman forward Noah Carter scored a career-high 25 points in the win. Can that be a launching pad with a big game against Colorado looming? | 12/10 at Colorado |
Northern Iowa at #24 ColoradoBennett: Picks against the spread for Louisville-Texas Tech, Butler-Baylor and other top games--The Athletic
8:00 pm central, PAC 12 Network
Line: Colorado -10
O/U: 126
The Pick: Under 126
It is tough to judge this Northern Iowa team, as they are 8-1 with no wins over a top-100 team and their one loss is a five-point setback to West Virginia. But Colorado is in a similar boat, with no wins over a top-50 team and a 14-point loss to Kansas. One of Northern Iowa’s strengths is their two-point offense but Colorado ranks 17th against. But the Buffaloes’ offense has struggled, ranking 89th overall and 306th from inside the arc and Northern Iowa’s slow pace will bring down the score as well. 126 may be a bit low but Colorado has hit the under in five of their eight games and Northern Iowa may surprise here, putting up a fight in Boulder.
Northern Iowa at No. 24 Colorado (-8½), 9 p.m. (Pac-12 Network): Northern Iowa has emerged as perhaps the frontrunner in the Missouri Valley Conference after an 8-1 start marred only by a close loss to West Virginia. Colorado won its first seven before getting hit in the face with a bucket of cold water at Allen Fieldhouse, losing by 14 points to Kansas last Saturday. The Panthers are not a great rebounding team, ranking 221st nationally in offensive rebounding rate. That means they probably won’t be getting many second chances while facing the best pound-for-pound board man in Division I, Tyler Bey. But here is why I’m going with the Panthers to cover: Colorado is 2-5-1 against the spread and 0-of-5 in its last five. Northern Iowa, on the other hand, is 6-1 ATS. The pick: Northern Iowa
