Tonight’s MenuThe Morning Dish – Thursday, February 6, 2020--Hoopville
The action picks up some on the evening, though the night isn’t loaded with big games. Here are some important ones to watch.

Side Dishes
Northern Iowa took care of Valparaiso 63-51 and Southern Illinois also went on the road to win at Evansville 64-60 in Missouri Valley action, and the Panthers remain a game ahead of the Salukis. Loyola-Chicago had a chance to join Southern Illinois in second, but Indiana State instead joined them in third place at 7-4 as the Sycamores blew them out 68-39 as the Ramblers shot just 33.3 percent from the field on the night and were never really in the game.LaRavia carries Indiana State past Loyola of Chicago 68-39--Associated Press

NORTHERN IOWA (NET: 40, NBC: 11): The Panthers took care of business at Valpo (152) on Wednesday night. Their strong NET and wins at Colorado (18) and over South Carolina (73) on a neutral keep the Panthers in the conversation, but losses at Southern Illinois (139) and Illinois State (208) are killers. UNI cannot lose another game unless it is against Loyola-Chicago (92) in the MVC tournament if they really want a chance at an at-large.
Northern Iowa. The Panthers (19-3, 8-2) are currently projected as a No. 11 seed and their résumé suffers largely from playing in a mid-major league where one loss counts as several compared to power conference foes. But credentials aside, coach Ben Jacobson's team has all the ingredients to be a March Madness Cinderella (remember this UNI team?). Guards AJ Green (19.4 ppg) and Trae Berhow form a dynamic backcourt, while Austin Phyfe adds a solid interior presence for one of the best three-point shooting teams in the country (ranking fifth nationally with a 39.9% average beyond the arc).News, Notes, and Highlighted Games: Wednesday, Feb 5th--Hoops HD
